STMAA Volunteer Hub (Updated 2008)

In order to help coordinate events this year, we are setting up an online "Volunteer Hub" to allow everyone to easily see what events are coming up that need help, to be able to sign up to help at those events, and to track those events that you have signed up for.

The site is at: http://stmaa.volunteerhub.com/

There is some help information at: Volunteer Hub

Using Volunteer Hub is easy. You need to register for an account. Pick a user name and password for yourself.  When you register for your account, please enter an email address so we can send reminders, and a cell phone number so we can contact you on the day of the event. This information will never be given to anyone outside of the band families.  Also, choose which groups you want to participate in ( e.g. Pit Crew, Food Team, etc.).

Once you have an account and have logged in, identify the events that you want to participate in.  Signing up for an event is easy. Later you can check back into Volunteer Hub to see the latest details, and to get a list of events that you are signed up for. If your plans change, and you can't attend an event, log back in to the site, and remove your name from the event, so that the coordinator knows that another person is needed.

Please go ahead and access the site now to become familiar with it, and to get your account set up.  You can experiment by signing up for our "Test" event.   We will be phasing in use of this service over the next few weeks, so for the time being you may not see all volunteer activity here, and volunteer counts for each of the events may not be accurate (so don't worry if it looks like you are the only one volunteering for something!)

That is all we need from most volunteers at this time.  Future announcements for new events may point you back to the site, and you can go back any time to check on status of upcoming events.  This system will be a huge benefit to those people who have to coordinate events, so please help them out by using it.

One more thing: if you are an event coordinator yourself, then contact Keith Swenson to get some additional information on how to set up events, print the sign-up sheet the morning before the event, and how to record volunteer attendance so they get recognized for their efforts.

If, for some reason, using computers isn't for you (in which case, you're probably not reading this email anyway), you are of course welcome to sign up for events the old fashioned way.
