STMAA

Santa Teresa Music & Arts Association

What is STMAA?
The Santa Teresa Music & Arts Association ("STMAA") is a non-profit public benefit corporation created by parents to promote, develop, and support participation in music education and other performing arts in the Santa Teresa High School community. We work in partnership with the school to create opportunities for our students to perform in band and choral festivals, marching band and color guard competitions, and other venues.

Membership:
if you have a student enrolled in any music class at Santa Teresa you are automatically a member of STMAA.

Volunteer Participation:
Volunteer participation and fundraising are absolutely essential in order to make these programs available to our students. Involvement in STMAA activities is a good way to meet other parents and students and to find out what's happening around the school. Opportunities are available for every level of commitment and every working schedule. Participation on one of our standing committees or at an STMAA sponsored event is a good way to start.

Mailing List:
STMAA maintains an email list which is used to distribute information in a timely manner to all interested parties. The mailing list is managed carefully to prevent release of email addresses to individuals or organizations for commercial or political purposes. If you want to join (or leave) our mailing list, please visit our mailing list subscription page. If you have questions about use of the mailing list please contact the mailing list manager at STMAA-list-owner@600building.com.

General Meetings:
STMAA General Meetings are usually held about once per quarter. Any parent or guardian of a music student is welcome to attend. Information on upcoming events and committee activities will be presented. General Meetings usually start at 7:00 PM in the library, and last two hours. Please check our calendar for possible changes to meeting location, dates, or times. Meeting minutes are posted on line.

Committee Meetings:
Most of the work of STMAA is carried out by one or more committees. Some of these committees are organized to support a specific event, like the Carnival. Others are "standing" committees which meet on an ongoing basis to support the program on a year-round basis. Parents and family members of students are encouraged to support their students by volunteering for committee work, fund raisers, and support at performance events. The music program at Santa Teresa High School cannot be successful without a genuine commitment from every family to participate as STMAA volunteers. If you haven't volunteered yet, we welcome you to join us, meet some great people, and help our students.

STMAA Committee meetings are held as needed. Meeting times and locations are determined by committee members.

Board Meetings:
STMAA Board Meetings are usuallyheld on the first Monday of each month. Board Meetings usually start at 7:00 PM in the Library. Please check our calendar for possible changes to meeting location, dates, or times. STMAA Board Meetings are open to any interested person.

STMAA Board Members and Contact Information:
Please feel free to contact any board member to discuss any aspect of the program or to share any ideas, thoughts, or concerns that you may have. Your input can help us provide a better music experience for your student. You may also send email to questions@600building.com and we will make sure your email is directed to the right person.
